Hopefully all my Georgia clients and friends know of the new law enacted on July 1! The Georgia Hands-Free Act makes it illegal for drivers to hold, use or watch a telecommunications device in their hands while driving.
The Hands-Free law has unfortunately become a necessary evil - Georgia has seen an increase in crashes due to driver inattention compared to states that have implemented a hands-free law.
For those of us whose careers depend on the constant use of a phone and a car, this law will impact our lives. We’ll have to invest in good hands-free technology and remember to have it in the car at all times (along with a good bluetooth charger, as a recent experience showed me)!
I’ve boiled down the details below and but you can also read more about it here.
