Weekend Getaways in Atlanta

As much as I love helping people find homes in which to create cherished memories, I know full well that sometimes you just need to get out of the house to make some really good ones!

So to that end, I have compiled a list of highly-rated get-away destinations near Atlanta. I know this comes after Valentine’s day, but if you really fouled up that holiday with your loved one, this might get you out of the dog house. You can thank me later with a referral.

ATLANTA GETAWAYS

Barnsley Resort – Enjoy the spa, golf, lake activities and more at this resort located about 70 minutes from Atlanta via I-75 N
Hike-Inn – A very rustic getaway but ideal for nature lovers who love to hike. Guests have to hike 5 miles to get to the lodge starting at the top of Amicalola Falls in the North Georgia Blue Ridge.

The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast – The home that inspired Gone With the Wind! ABout 30 to 45 minutes outside Atlanta along I-20E.
Brasstown Valley Resort – A mountain retreat with horse stables, golf and spa 2 hours outside Atlanta in North Georgia.

Ritz Carlton at Reynolds Plantation – A lakeside resort 1.5 hours outside Atlanta in Greensboro, GA.
Old Edwards Inn – A luxurious retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Highlands, NC approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes from Atlanta via US-23 N.
